Respect
We treat every person with dignity. Disagreement belongs to ideas, not to people. Listen generously and assume good intent until proven otherwise.
Code of Conduct
PyCon events worldwide—including local chapters—follow community norms rooted in the Python Software Foundation Code of Conduct. This page describes how we apply those expectations at PyCon Iringa meetings, workshops, online channels, and partner activities we host or sponsor.
This Code of Conduct applies to all participants—attendees, speakers, exhibitors, sponsors, volunteers, organizers, and contractors—in every venue we control: in-person events, livestreams, official chat groups and mailing lists, social spaces adjacent to our programs, and chapter-sponsored socials. Sponsors and mentors carry the same obligations as everyone else.
We treat every person with dignity. Disagreement belongs to ideas, not to people. Listen generously and assume good intent until proven otherwise.
Python grows when everyone can participate. We welcome contributors of any background, identity, experience level, native language, or ability—and we make space for newcomers.
Harassment, intimidation, discrimination, and unwanted sexual attention have no place here. So do sustained disruption, stalking, or coercion online or in person.
Reports are handled confidentially and fairly. We investigate proportionately, protect reporters from retaliation when we can, and correct harmful behavior.
The following are examples; the organizing team may address other conduct that undermines a safe, inclusive environment.
Reporting concerns
We take every report seriously. Information is shared only with people who need it to respond, and we aim to protect reporters from retaliation. If you are unsure whether something counts as a violation, we still want to hear from you—we can discuss options without committing you to a formal process.

We aim to acknowledge receipt within 24 hours for digital reports; at events, we prioritize in-person safety first.
Organizers may warn offenders, require them to leave a session or venue, revoke tickets or credentials without refund, remove posts from official channels, or ban future participation—depending on severity, repetition, and risk to others. Where conduct may violate law, we may involve appropriate authorities. Nothing here prevents the PSF or platform operators from applying their own policies in parallel.
